Created by Sydney Cramer, Basement Magazine is a multimedia arts publication featuring the works of Chicago artists. Basement aims to tell the stories of Chicago creatives, and tell the story of Chicago through its creatives.
Having grown up immersed in Chicago’s DIY music scene, Sydney was inspired to highlight and pay homage to the uniquely collaborative, grass-roots nature of the city’s art and music scene. Basement is a safe and supportive space that welcomes artists of all media, backgrounds, and identities.
Basement released its very first printed publication in the spring of 2019, and has since continued as a digital publication.
